WHAT HAPPENED?
United lost 1-0 to Bayern at Old Trafford on Tuesday night thanks to Kingsley Coman's second-half strike. That meant the Red Devils came bottom of their Champions League group with just four points from six games, meaning they are out of Europe altogether. After the match, CBS Sports pundits Richards and Carragher sang 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' to poke fun at United legend Schmeichel.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
United are running out of things to play for this season. They lost early in their Carabao Cup defence, they are out of the Champions League and missed out on qualifying for Europe as they failed to even come third in their group. All that is left is to try and finish as high up the Premier League as possible and to fare well in the FA Cup. The future for the club, at present, looks far from positive.
